Discussion about flow capacitors in Drexel University
During a working trip to the United States on December 2012 - January 2013 Materials Research Centre director Oleksiy Gogotsi participated in a meeting of researchers from Drexel Nanomaterials Group led by Professor Yury Gogotsi, as well as scientists from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics. Researchers discussed the development of new flow capacitors technology. At the laboratory they assembled current prototype of flow capacitors cell.Materials Research Centre also participates in development of the pilot device with flow electrochemical capacitor.

Oleksiy Gogotsi, director of Materials Research Centre, took part in work meeting in Université Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France
On the work meeting with Patrice Simon, professor in Material Science at Paul Sabatier University, CIRIMAT Laboratory, his staff, and prof. Yury Gogotsi, director of DNI, Drexel University, USA, MRC director Oleksiy Gogotsi discussed the actual problems of the renewable energy production increasing and modern energy storage systems developing. They discussed participation of Ukrainian scientific research organization - Materials Research Centre - in the international projects and agreed to conduct joint research in electrochemistry and modern sources and energy storage devices. Prof. Patrice Simon"s research is focused on the synthesis and the characterization of nanostructured materials for electrochemical energy storage sources, including Electrochemical Capacitors and Li-ion battery systems. He is mainly involved in research on high surface area porous carbons for Electrochemical Capacitors (supercapacitors).

Visit to University of Central Florida: O.Gogotsi, prof. G.Gogotsi, and prof. N.Orlovskaya
In January 2013, on the Professor Nina Orlovskaya invitation Oleksiy Gogotsi, Materials Research Centre Director, prof. George Gogotsi, Institute for Problems of Strength, NAS, Ukraine, during a working trip to the United States visited the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, College of Engineering and Computer Science, University of Central Florida, that developes research in areas such as Thermal Management, Advanced Gas Turbines, Nano-Scale Flow and Heat Transfer, Inigition and Combustion Characteristics, Bio-MEMS, Advanced Coatings, Materials Characterization, Bio-Materials Nano-Materials, Shape Memory Alloys.
American professor of electrical engineering Sergey Edward Lyshevski’s visit to Materials Research Centre , September 2012
In September 2012 Materials Research Centre was attended by Sergey Lyshevski – Ph.D, Professor of Electrical Engineering Department of Electrical and Microelectronic Engineering, Rochester Institute of Technology, New York, USA.
Currently Prof. Lyshevsky is working in nanotechnology, microsystems, molecular processing and quantum informatics. Prof. Lyshevsky is engaged in molecular and nanotechnologies implementation into control systems, connection, computers and intelligence systems. Professor’s fields of research are also MEMS (micro electromechanical systems – technologies and devices which combine microelectronic and micromechanical components) and ICs in peripheral systems (actuators, sensors and smart structures).

MRC is also engaged in nanotechnology and research studies of modern materials, developing of control systems and automatics. The meeting of Sergey Lyshevsky with MRC’s director Oleksiy Gogotsi was devoted to issue of the day in the modern science, engineering and international cooperation questions. Special attention was paid to the design and analysis of ecological energy systems, nanotechnology, the problem of accumulation, storage and power conversion and integrated sustainable energy systems.

"Materials Research Centre" Ltd, Ukraine, takes an active part in the development of international cooperation in the sphere of education and scientific researches, in the advancement of the higher education system of our country, improving of its level, and determination of the ways for integration into the world educational environment within the Bologna process. Also, MRC Ltd. is a party to extension of partner contacts and establishment of new steady relations with the foreign universities (in particular with the USA educational institutions) and education organizations. Thus, during А. Gogotsi’s, Director’s of "Materials research centre" Ltd. visit to the USA, with doctor S.Gucheri, Dean of the Engineering centre in Drexel University, and Y.Sergeev, Ukrainian Ambassador to the United Nations, there were discussed aspects of implementation of the program student exchange between Ukraine and USA, internships and studies abroad and in Ukraine, and also future development of cooperation in international scientific researches.
