Flue gas cleaning systems

Rus Eng

ScrubberEnergy recovery system and the type of waste, the flue gas stream contains a certain amount of pollutants, such as particulates, halogenides, NOx, SOx, etc.These substances need to be removed/neutralised from the flue gases before releasing them into the atmosphere. Materials Research Centre provides development of cleaning technology you need, designs and manufactures flue gas cleaning systems for technology line

Scrubber for cleaning of exhaust gases, absorption technology with NaOH solution

wet scrubberApplication requirements. Scrubber is designed to “wash out” unwanted pollutants, like dust or sulphur dioxides from industrial exhaust stream, created in the process of dispersed carbon-contained material burning out in the waste-heat boiler of the furnace for 1 tone/h.

Scrubber frame is designed for gas flows and water droplets organizing. Irrigation system is designed for water supply and spraying inside the scrubber. Sludge removal device is designed for sludge automatic removal from the scrubber.

Wet Scrubber for cleaning of industrial exhaust stream with capacity 1000m3/h, absorption technology with CaOH solution

Wet scrubber, 3d model

Scrubber components:

- multi-section scrubber frame;
- irrigation system with centered tangential jets (replaceable);
- with sludge regulative float device;
- emergency water supply system

Contaminated gas is fed by inclined gas flue to the bottom of the scrubber and rises up the frame. On the top of the scrubber there are 3 irrigation tiers, which consist of centrifugal jets. Lime-water suspension  (CaCO3), that is under pressure, is spraying.

Filter for cleaning of exhaust gases

filter systemFilters are fitted in many industrial vacuum and cleaning systems for the high efficiency removal of particles and dust. provide economical, effective, highly efficient removal of large and small solid and liquid particles from gas streams. This helps protect valuable mechanical equipment and optimize the efficiency of processes.

Scrubbers: general information

scrubber

Scrubber systems are a diverse group of air pollution control devices that can be used to remove some particulates and/or gases from industrial exhaust streams. Scrubbers are one of the primary devices that control gaseous emissions, especially acid gases. Scrubbers can also be used for heat recovery from hot gases by flue-gas condensation.

Partial breaking of the Coulombic ordering of ionic liquids confined in carbon nanopores

An international team of researchers, including Drexel's Yury Gogotsi, PhD, observed that ions will forgo their typical alternating charge ordering when they are forced to jam into a small, sub-nanometer-sized, space — a behavior modification not unlike people relinquishing personal space in order to pack into a crowded subway car. The discovery could lead to safer energy storage devices and better water filtration membranes.In their most recent paper in Nature Materials researcher from Drexel University led by prof. Yury Gogotsi showed that Coulombic ordering reduces when the pores can accommodate only a single layer of ions. The non-Coulombic ordering is further enhanced in the presence of an applied electric potential.

Researcers from Drexel University have developed a recipe that can turn electrolyte solution into a safeguard against the chemical process that leads to battery-related disasters

Recipe for Safer Batteries — Just Add DiamondsResearchers described a process by which nanodiamonds — tiny diamond particles 10,000 times smaller than the diameter of a hair — curtail the electrochemical deposition, called plating, that can lead to hazardous short-circuiting of lithium ion batteries.
